Clos Nysa is located in Paziols, in the heart of the Corbières, in a territory of vineyards, rivers, local memory and open landscapes between sea and mountain. Here, a stay at the estate invites rest as much as discovery of a living land.
Around Clos Nysa, the vineyards, hills and villages shape a territory to be discovered slowly. Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Tautavel and Paziols form a landscape of stone, scrubland and wide horizons, between heritage, nature and the art of living.
The Verdouble
Close to the accommodation, the Verdouble river is part of the natural setting of the place, with its cool, shaded and peaceful spots. The river contributes to the atmosphere of Clos Nysa, without organised water activities. Swimming in the Verdouble may be possible depending on natural conditions, under each person's own responsibility and without supervision.
Paziols, Tuchan and the Corbières
Paziols and Tuchan are rooted in the Hautes Corbières wine region and AOC Fitou, between vineyards, scrubland, the Verdouble and open landscapes. Paziols also lies on the edge of the Pyrénées-Orientales, in a transition zone where Occitan, Languedoc and Catalan memories meet.
Nature and hiking
Paths cross the fragrant scrubland, pine woods, valleys and wine-growing landscapes. On foot or by bike, the surroundings offer a dry, luminous nature that changes with the seasons.
Royal Fortresses of Languedoc
Nearby, the Royal Fortresses of Languedoc, long known as Cathar castles, recall the medieval history of the territory and the memory of the Albigensian Crusade. Aguilar, Quéribus and Peyrepertuse are among the emblematic sites to discover around the Corbières, in the heart of Cathar Country. This remarkable heritage is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage listing.
A land of vineyards, voices and stories
Around Paziols, the landscapes tell not only of vines and stone. They also carry the trace of voices, village cafés, local festivals and stories passed down through encounters.
Paziols has a strong connection to Claude Nougaro, who was attached to the village and the landscapes of the Corbières. The Verdouble, the wind, the cicadas and the countryside nourished part of his imagination.
At the estate, this memory lives on in simple exchanges: over a glass, at the bar, during an occasional music evening, when Sylvain sometimes sings, or when someone tells their story — their family's, the wine's, the harvest's or the land's.
Gastronomy
Farmers' markets, olive oil, honey, goat cheese, artisan cured meats: food is an art of living here, without artifice. It naturally accompanies the wines, the seasons and the encounters.
Wine tourism
Domaine de Roudène and Clos Nysa offer a discovery of wine and terroir through family history, landscapes, encounters and the life of the estate. Here, wine connects the land, the seasons, the gestures of the vineyard and the stories shared around the countryside.
